October is SCA Awareness Month

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Month, observed every October, is a campaign designed to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest, its symptoms, risk factors, and the importance of immediate intervention. SCA is a life-threatening condition where the heart suddenly stops beating, causing the individual to collapse, stop breathing, and lose consciousness.

Without immediate intervention—such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)—SCA can lead to death within minutes.
