Medic Response Health & Safety is now offering Wilderness First Aid Training.
We had our first Wilderness Remote First Aid (WFA) training (since COVID) last month for a small group of people that work in the outdoors. We had the class outside and enjoyed coffee and doughnuts before we started the training. The group had just completed a CPR AED class the week before.
What is Wilderness Remote First Aid Training?
Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.
WFA is a two-day class (16 hours). It consists of lots of real-life hands-on skill sessions that allowed the group to practice their old skills and learn new ones.
Topics include Primary and Secondary Assessments, Head/Brain, Neck and Spinal Injuries, Heat-Related Emergencies, Hypothermia, Altitude-Related Illnesses, Allergies and Anaphylaxis, Burns, Bone and Joint Injuries, Wounds and Wound Infection, Wilderness First Aid Kits and more.
Each member of the group got a Wilderness First Aid Patch as a congratulations for successful completion of the course.
Since we are offering our Wilderness Remote First Aid Training class again, we can come to your location if you have a group of 12 or more participants.
If you are interested in taking a Wilderness Remote First Aid Training class from Medic Response, please contact us. We can also do a CPR Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training class before the WFA class if your people need it.
We also offer Wilderness First Aid Kits in our online store.
