Wilderness First Aid Training Course
Wilderness First Aid is a 24-hour course for those who do more serious wilderness activities. This training is designed for camp counselors, bicycle patrol members, outdoor enthusiasts, park rangers, search and rescue teams, law enforcement officers, rangers, trackers, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, leaders and guides. It is also suitable for those who will be participating in 1-4 day trips where they may have to care for a patient for hours before help can arrive. WFA presents wilderness topics in more detail, provides more time for skills practice, and also includes role-playing wilderness accident scenarios. This course does not include CPR instruction. Certification is good for 3 years.
This class meets the requirements for Wilderness First Aid established by Boy Scouts of America Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Northern Teir. The course length may vary depending on whether the class has had previous training, or does enough reading and preparation to reduce the need for extended lectures. Skills training is intensive, with many role-playing wilderness accident scenarios.
We are now setting up additional Wilderness First Aid Classes in the Nothern Virginia area. We offer on site training at your location if you like to host a Wilderness First Aid training. You can contact us at 703-449-5438 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
